Public Comment is a vital part of our multistakeholder model. It provides a mechanism for stakeholders to have their opinions and recommendations formally and publicly documented. It is an opportunity for the ICANN community to effect change and improve policies and operations.
We would like a clarification, and hopefully a reassurance, by the Board that the .internal TLD will not be subjected to IDN revision and thus that no alternative scripts will be accepted for the use case scenario for which this TLD is devised.
Such potential multiplicity of scripts could generate multitude of confusions and fragment the way internal networks would function.
The IO Foundation does not believe that .internal should ever be considered under different scripts than Latin.
