Public Comment is a vital part of our multistakeholder model. It provides a mechanism for stakeholders to have their opinions and recommendations formally and publicly documented. It is an opportunity for the ICANN community to effect change and improve policies and operations.
The internal root domain seems to be unsuitable due to its length - if needed to be typed manually - and (already in document) mentioned confusion with .int by users. Why was a TLD SELF, i.e. .self. not considered, as it seems to be unallocated and not a part of even unofficially used root domains (unlike the .here. domain which would have been even better, but is already allocated)?
